Teens and young adults aged 14 to 25 years

Objectives

The purpose is to provide the minors a welcoming and safe space where you can enhance the creative process, the space of listening and the expressive potential of each participant. Creative activity can stimulate reflection on personal change and help to improve the quality of life.

Operational context

Florence (inside and outside the Juvenile Prison)

Main activities

Course of art therapy, training a therapeutic group. The art therapy course was based on twelve meetings and included a preliminary day art therapy dedicated to the operators of the juvenile services.

Duration

Progress worked in the juvenile prison of Florence between 2005 and 2008. The project "open studio" included the voluntary participation of minors, under criminal proceedings, in art therapy courses coordinated and carried out by a multidisciplinary team (art teacher, psychologist, educators and interior operators). It has changed over the years (name and some features) to access funding of the Tuscany region (2009-2013).
